lyrics version 0.2 has been ported (8/27/2010) to OS/2. This Qt4 app downloads lyrics to songs.

Lucide version 1.3.3 beta has been released (8/26/2010); this is a multi-purpose document viewer, using plugins for different formats. It currently supports PDF, DjVu documents, and JPEG files; additional formats can be added by third party programmers. The program is now open source, and distributed under the CDDL and LGPL.

umix version 0.2 has been released (8/26/2010). This is another PM mixer for UniAud, that supports configuration files for matching up the mixer lines.

drss version 0.3.5 has been ported (8/26/2010) to OS/2. This Qt4 app is an RSS newsfeed aggregator.

MyIP version 0.3 has been released (8/26/2010). This is a simple utility for querying the current system's IP address as seen from the Internet.

Paul Smedley has released (8/25/2010) an OS/2 port of MySQL version 5.1.50. The MySQL database server is the world's most widely used open source database. The OS/2 port features named pipes, data replication, >2GB databases, and more. There is a mailing list for discussion.

NASM version 2.09 (8/24/2010) has been released. The NASM assembler has support for X86 multimedia extensions, and supports a various number of object formats, including the old .obj format of the Borland compilers.

Wally version 2.4 has been ported (8/24/2010) to OS/2. This Qt4 app is for changing you desktop wallpaper, using mutliple sources including Internet sites. From VOICE News.

EmperoarTV version 2.05d has been released (8/23/2010). This software brings support for many DVB cards, as well as the Hauppauge PVR150/250/350/500 TV cards to the OS/2 platform, including high quality MPEG2 hard disk recording and playback. You can listen to FM radio programs in stereo, watch TV programs in excellent image quality, and more. Also available is DVDFront, a front end that simplifies the creation of video DVDs out of recordings made by EmperoarTV. It supports both WarpOverlay and SNAP overlays. There is an online forum for discussion as well.

eMozPrint version 1.70T has been released (8/23/2010). This utility scans the desktop for PDF files created by Firefox, Thunderbird or Seamonkey, and prints the files automatically or offers a dialog to print them, using Ghostscript. From OS2.org.

DejaVu fonts version 2.32 have been released (8/22/2010). This is a font family based on the Bitstream Vera Fonts, which provides support for a wide range of Unicode characters.

pdlzip version 1.1 has been ported (8/21/2010) to OS/2. This is a public domain lossless file compressor that is almost as fast as gzip, and compresses better than bzip2. Also available are clzip version 1.0 and lzip version 1.11rc4, a C version and the original C++ version of the code, respectively.

SmartSVN version 6.6 has been released (8/20/2010). This is a Java Subversion GUI client, with features like built-in File Compare/Merge, Change Report or Tag and Branch handling, and more. It requires Java 1.4.1 or higher.

Capitalism version 0.5 has been ported (8/20/2010) to OS/2. This Qt4 app allows you to play online Monopoly like games with other players.

Binary GetyourNews version 1.1.05 has been released (8/20/2010). This is a newsgroup attachment downloader, based on GetyourNews Version 2.16.2, with header filtering and a few other improvements.

dos2unix and unix2dos version 5.1.1 have been released (8/18/2010). These command line tools convert plain text files from/to DOS and UNIX formats. From VOICE News.

LAME version 3.98.4 has been ported (8/16/2010) to OS/2. LAME is an MP3 encoder, and includes a graphical frame analyzer.

The Samba server version 3.3.13 (labeled version 1.1.0) has been ported (8/15/2010) to OS/2. Also available (7/6/2010) is version 3.0.37 (labeled version 1.0.5). This allows you to share your files without the need of NetBIOS (IBM LAN Manager or IBM Peer).

Larsen Commander version 1.07.02 has been released (8/15/2010). This is a nice GUI Norton Commander clone with many features. There is also a mailing list available. The latest version can be found on Hobbes.

Arora version 0.10.2-301487d has been ported (8/15/2010) to OS/2. This is a simple WebKit-based web browser, which uses the QT4 libraries.

EVFSGUI version 2.0.6 has been released (8/13/2010). This is a fully drag and drop enabled GUI to manage SMB/CIFS connections; it works with EVFS and/or Netdrive, and requires the Samba client utilities.

Agena version 1.0 has been released (8/13/2010). This is an interpreted language suited for sophisticated procedural programming, with syntax like simplified Algol 68, with elements taken from Lua and SQL.

nem-nem version 2010.08.1 has been ported (8/13/2010) to OS/2. This is a dice game similar to Yahtzee. From VOICE News.

Paul Smedley has ported CUPS version 1.4.4 (8/12/2010), as well as Gutenprint 5.2.5 (2/16/2010), hplip version 3.9.12 (2/18/2010), and Splix version 1.1.1 (12/26/2008). The latest build includes improved support for USB printers. Also available (4/10/2009) is a CUPS port driver, which allows interfacing the standard OS/2 printing subsystem with CUPS. CUPS is the Common Unix Printing System; the goal is to improve the printing support in eComStation. You can see what printers are potentially supported; those mentioned as working with CUPS or Gutenprint should work. There is a newsgroup dedicated to discussion and feedback, as well as a HowTo. Qoobar version 1.3.0 has been ported (8/11/2010) to OS/2. This is a tag editor for music files, such as MP3 and Ogg Vorbis. From VOICE News.

Iron Spring PL/I beta version 0.9.1 has been released (8/11/2010). This is a compiler for the PL/I programming language, although it is currently missing some features.

SmartGit version 1.5.5 has been released (8/10/2010). This is a Java GUI client for the Git version control system. It requires Java 1.4.1 or higher.

Blubbels version 1.0 has been ported (8/9/2010) to OS/2. This is a game that uses Qt4.

so version 0.9 has been released (8/8/2010). This is a utility to get info about processes, kill them, and more, in the tradition of the GO! utility.

Liberation fonts version 1.06 have beeen packaged (8/8/2010) for OS/2. This is a family of fonts designed as a Free alternative to several common Windows fonts, and included Liberation Serif (replaces Times New Roman), Liberation Sans (replaces Arial), and Liberation Mono (replaces Courier New).

remap version 1.0 has been released (8/7/2010). This tool reformats and demangles IBM-style map files.

A few more Qt4 apps have been ported (8/6/2010) to OS/2 - Tubularix version 0.4.1.15 is a Tetris-like game, and DaemonFS version 1.1 is a real time file watcher. From VOICE News.

FFMPEGCA version 0.9.3 has been released. This is a GUI front-end for ffmpeg, which allows converting audio and video between formats.

Flashrip version 0.2 has been ported (8/5/2010) to OS/2. This QT-based tool allows converting YouTube videos to OGG or MP3. From VOICE News.

Google Droid fonts version 1.00 have beeen packaged (8/5/2010) for OS/2. This is a family of high-quality fonts originally designed for Google Android, and includes Droid Sans, Droid Sans Mono, and Droid Serif.

InstFont version 1.0 has been released. This program was designed to facilitate automated font install packages, and allows new fonts to be available immediately, without a reboot.

exceptq version 7.0 has been released (8/3/2010). This adds a comprehensive trap reporting facility to your app with just 5 lines of code. Reports include: the call stack, disassembly of the faulting instructions, a stack dump, a listing of dlls loaded, and more.

The USB-based monitor for APC Back-UPS CS/ES has been updated (8/2/2010) to version 0.12.3. The web site is in Russian, but there is an English readme file.

NYAOS version 3.1.0_0 has been released (8/2/2010). This is an enhanced command line shell, which has some similarities to tcsh.

Paul Smedley has released (7/30/2010) an OS/2 port of Apache version 2.2.16. Apache is the premiere web server of the Internet.

Mensys has begun beta testing a driver for the wired Intel Gigabit network chipsets, based on the Linux e1000 kernel module. It is released under the GNU Public License and anyone can request access to the source repository; eComStation software subscribers can download the driver from the BetaZone. DFSee has been updated (7/28/2010) to version 10.5. DFSee is an FDISK, display, analysis and recovery tool for disks and filesystems, including HPFS, NTFS, FAT, JFS, EXT2, EXT3, and ReiserFS. It includes the ability to resize partitions, cloning and imaging, undelete files, and more. There is also a support forum available.

Paul Smedley has ported (7/27/2010) BIND version 9.7.1p2 to OS/2. BIND is the Berkeley Internet Name Daemon, an implementation of DNS protocols.

A few more Qt4 apps have been ported (7/27/2010) to OS/2 - Tesh version 1.0 is a text editor with syntax highlighting, and QWatermark version 0.2.1 is a tool for watermarking images.

LyX version 1.6.7 has been ported (7/25/2010) to OS/2. LyX is an open source WYSIWYM (what you see is what you mean) GUI document processor. Unlike standard word processors, LyX encourages an approach to writing based on the structure of your documents, not their appearance. LyX lets you concentrate on writing, leaving details of visual layout to the software.

Paul Smedley has ported (7/25/2010) Quassel IRC to OS/2. This is an IRC client that uses the Qt libraries.

Paul Smedley has released (7/24/2010) OS/2 builds of PHP versions 5.2.14 and 5.3.3; modules supported include bz2, curl, dbase, exif, filepro, gd, gettext, mbstring, mysql, mysqli, openssl, pdo_mysql, pdo_sqlite, pgsql, and sqlite. It features a module for Apache 2.2, as well as CGI and CLI versions. For more info on PHP, see the PHP web site.

JExpress version 7.7.3 has been released (7/24/2010). This lets you create Java-based multilingual installers and auto-updaters. An easy to use Swing interface lets you design your installers quickly without requiring any programming. It can also select the exact classes your Java app uses, build your directory tree, and produce JAR files.

A few more Qt4 apps have been ported (7/24/2010) to OS/2 - ZNotes version 0.4.3 is for taking notes, and qspeedtest r43 is a tool for evaluating network latency and speed.

MediaDownloader version 1.3.2 has been ported (7/23/2010) to OS/2. This allows you to search for and view images and videos from Google Images and YouTube.

PrefBar version 5.1.1 has been released (7/23/2010). It allows you to configure several Mozilla settings on the fly, and incorporates the features of UABar.

SmartCVS version 7.1.2 has been released (7/23/2010). This is a Java CVS GUI client, with features like built-in File Compare/Merge, Transaction display or List Repository Files, and more. It requires Java 1.4.1 or higher.

The Synergy client and qsynergy GUI front-end have been ported (7/22/2010) to OS/2. Synergy lets you easily share a single mouse and keyboard between multiple computers with different operating systems, each with its own display, without special hardware.

Kontakter version 0.2 has been ported (7/22/2010) to OS/2. This is a QT-based address book, which can synchronize with a central database. From VOICE News.

QXmlEdit version 0.4.8 has been ported (7/21/2010) to OS/2. This is a tree-based XML editor, which uses the QT4 libraries. From VOICE News.

TEA version 28.1.0 has been ported (7/19/2010) to OS/2. This is a QT-based text editor.

Technology preview 4 of Dr. Message has been released (7/18/2010). This is a native instant messenger application for OS/2, supporting a wide variety of popular messaging protocols, like AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, and others. This is a follow-on to Mr. Message, with a completely new implementation of the protocols and the GUI.

QGoogleTranslate version 0.2b7 has been ported (7/18/2010) to OS/2. This QT app translates text using the Google Translate engine.

Exiftool version 8.25 has been packaged (7/13/2010) for OS/2. This is a set of Perl modules plus an application script for reading and writing meta information in image, audio, video, and PDF files.

MailRedirect version 0.74 was updated (7/8/2010). This Mozilla extension allows you to bounce / redirect email messages from Thunderbird and Seamonkey. Note that the latest version is on the main page, NOT the installation page!

eComstation Maintenance Tool version 2.2.1.0 has been released (7/8/2010). This is designed to apply software updates to eComstation.

Paul Smedley has ported (7/7/2010) GCC version 4.4.4 to OS/2. This compiler allows many modern projects to be compiled for OS/2. Also available are ports of GCC versions 4.3.4, 4.3.3, 4.3.2, 4.0.4, and 3.4.6.

Samba client versions 1.5.2 and 1.6 beta 1 have been released (7/6/2010), based on Samba 3.0.37 and 3.3.13, respectively. This is a plugin for the NetDrive Filesystem (or EVFS), which allows you to mount SMB or CIFS shares on OS/2 without the need of NetBIOS (IBM LAN Manager or IBM Peer). Also updated (7/7/2010) are the Samba client utilities, to version 1.1.0, also based on Samba version 3.3.13.

EasySync version 1.0.2 has been released (7/5/2010). This PM syncronisation and backup utility lets you see at a glance what files need to be updated between two directories, whether they reside on the same machine or separate computers on the network. Transfer can be set to bi-directional to fully synchronize two directories, or uni-directional to limit what is updated.

Workplace Sans version 0.7.1 and Workplace Sans Bold version 0.4 have been released. This is a Unicode TrueType outline font that is designed to resemble the OS/2 bitmap font "WarpSans." Also available is Workplace Gothic and Workplace Gothic Bold version 0.1, a Unicode TrueType outline font with similar proportions to Workplace Sans and WarpSans, but with a rounder, more natural appearance.

Walter Meinl has released (7/4/2010) Enigmail version 1.1.2 for OS/2; this allows you to use GnuPG with your email in Thunderbird and/or Seamonkey. OS2World has a tutorial on setting it up.

A few more Qt4 apps have been ported (7/2/2010) to OS/2 - FocusWriter version 1.2.2 is a full-screen basic word processing program, Simsu version 1.2.1 is a version of the Sudoku game, Perceptron version 0.9 is a random guessing game, Hexalate version 1.0.1 is a game where you align discs, and QCheckers version 0.1 is a game of Checkers. A beta 2 of SMplayer version 0.6.9 has been ported (7/1/2010) to OS/2. This is a GUI frontend for MPlayer, based on the Qt4 graphics toolkit.

Form History Control version 1.2.6 has been released (6/30/2010). This is a Mozilla extension that allows you to manage the form data saved by your web browser.

qt-digits version 1.0 has been ported (6/29/2010) to OS/2. This is a brain twister game.

The distributed.net client version 2.9108.517 has been released (6/28/2010). There is also a personal proxy, now (2/15/2009) on build 347. This is a distributed computing project where you can contribute some of your computing power towards research, primarily in the encryption field.

The "widescreen activators" for Intel and ATI chipsets have been updated (6/27/2010) to version 0.87; these hack the VESA BIOS to support some widescreen modes.

The Java Image Browser Sorter version 2.7 has been released (6/26/2010). This program requires Java 1.4.

qBittorrent version 2.2.10 has been ported (6/25/2010) to OS/2; this QT app is a Bittorrent client.

Paul Smedley has ported (6/25/2010) Subversion 1.6.12 to OS/2. Also available (4/20/2010) is another port of Subversion version 1.6.9. Subversion is software for version control, intended to replace CVS. From VOICE News.

PMMail/2 version 3.07 has been released. VOICE purchased the rights and source code for this popular email client; VOICE membership is required as part of the registration, but the demo version can be used for one account, and some other limitations.

Guiffy version 9.2 has been released (6/23/2010). Guiffy is a file compare / merge (diff-like) tool with a GUI implemented in Java.

Sqliteman version 1.2.2 has been ported (6/21/2010) to OS/2; this QT app is a SQLite3 GUI database manager.

Qtar version 1.0.7 has been ported (6/20/2010) to OS/2. This tool is useful for creating archives for Qt projects. From VOICE News.

Paul Smedley has ported (6/20/2010) curl version 7.21.0 to OS/2. This is a tool for getting files using URL syntax, with SSL support.

WPIView version 1.1.0 has been released (6/19/2010). This is a utility to view, install, and extract WarpIN packages. From OS2.org.

Domination version 1.1.0.1 has been released (6/18/2010). This is a Java version of the game Risk.

SDLMAME version 0.138 has been ported (6/18/2010) to OS/2. This is an SDL version of the Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator.

GBM version 1.67 has been released (6/18/2010). Generalised Bitmap Module is a library for handling many different bitmap file formats, and is used by applications like Mesa, PM-Raw, and PM-Exif. It includes a PM bitmap viewer and editor. It now features a REXX interface library, as well as plugins for Lucide and Mozilla. The source code is freely available and released as public domain. The latest features include support for JPEG 2000, including the OpenJPEG library and tools.

MindTerm version 3.4 is now available (6/14/2010); this is a SSH client written in Java.

More Qt4 games have been updated (6/13/2010) to work with the 4.6.2 port, including Cutemaze 1.1.0, Multilotek 1.0, Peg-e 1.1.0, gottet 1.0.3, and openpref 0.1.3.

Logical Config.Sys Sort version 0.4.0 has been released (6/13/2010). This sorts the CONFIG.SYS file into logical sections.

Eight Queens version 0.3.4 has been ported (6/12/2010) to OS/2. This is a logic puzzle, that uses the QT4 libraries.

id3v2 version 0.1.12 has been ported (6/8/2010) to OS/2. This is a command line id3v2 tag editor for MP3 files, which can add, modify, remove, and view id3v2 tags, and convert from id3v1 tags.

DVD/CD Toys version 0.09 has been released (6/7/2010). This is a set of utilities to burn CD and DVD disks, and ISO images.

SearchPlus version 1.80 has been released (6/7/2010). This tool does simultaneous multiple file searches, including in zip archives. Search criteria can include contents, file size, file date, attributes, and actions can include edit, open, delete, copy, move, execute.

Paul Smedley has updated (6/6/2010) his OS/2 port of FFMpeg. This is a complete (command line driven) solution to record, convert, and stream audio and video. Note that WarpVision, KMP, and MPlayer all use this library.

Scribus version 1.3.7 has been ported (6/5/2010) to OS/2. This page layout program supports professional publishing features, such as CMYK color, separations, ICC color management and versatile PDF creation. The latest version can be found on Paul Smedley's site.

A few more Qt4 apps have been ported (6/4/2010) to OS/2 - screengrab version 0.8.1 is a tool for capturing screen shots, and LinkSaver 2.0a is a simple bookmark manager.

OpenSSL version 1.0.0a has been ported (6/4/2010) to OS/2. This is a robust, commercial-grade, full-featured, and Open Source toolkit implementing the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL v2/v3) and Transport Layer Security (TLS v1) protocols, as well as a full-strength general purpose cryptography library.

A few more Qt4 apps have been ported (6/2/2010) to OS/2 - Abby version 0.4.8 is a GUI front-end to the cclive command line video extraction utility, and QDiskUsage version 1.0.4 is a graphical disk usage analyzer.

DataSeeker version 1.0.1 has been released (6/2/2010). This is a multithreaded PM text and file finder, intended as a replacement for PMSEEK.EXE.

A few more Qt4 apps have been ported (6/1/2010) to OS/2 - Tanglet version 1.1.1 is a word finding game based on Boggle, and Clipgrab version 3.0.6.6 allows you to download Flash videos from various web sites.

FreeType/2 version 1.3.0 has been released; it is based on version 1.3.1 of the FreeType library. The FreeType/2 TrueType driver replaces the one that comes with OS/2, and provides for better looking TrueType font rendering.

A few more Qt4 apps have been ported (5/31/2010) to OS/2 - S.T.E. version 0.4.0 is a feature-rich text editor, and TicTacToe From Hell version 3.30 is a game with animated graphics simulating hand drawing and many game variants. From VOICE News.

newLISP version 10.2.8 has been ported (5/31/2010) to OS/2. Also available (9/15/2009) is another port of version 10.1.5. This is a LISP-like scripting language for CGI programming, system administration, text processing, etc.

VLC media player version 1.0.5 has been ported (5/30/2010) to OS/2 as a "beta 1" release. This is a highly portable multimedia player and multimedia framework capable of reading most audio and video formats (MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, DivX, MPEG-1, mp3, ogg, aac ...) as well as DVDs, Audio CDs VCDs, and various streaming protocols.

FM/2 version 3.18 has been released (5/30/2010). This is an open source GUI file manager program, with lots of extra helper utilities. The source code is available from netlabs.org.

The open source C-Media audio driver has been updated (5/30/2010) to version 0.2.3 for OS/2. It supports the C-Media CMI8738 sound chip, and is based on Sander van Leeuwen's Soundblaster Live! project.

JWasm version 2.02 has been ported (5/26/2010) to OS/2. This is a free MASM-compatible assembler, with several additional features, and is a fork of the Open Watcom assembler.

Some Samba GUI Tools have been released (5/25/2010). Included are SSCC version 1.0.0, SMBUsers version 0.9.8 and SMBMon version 0.9.26. These tools are for server configuration and installation, and user and group administration. There is also a Samba port driver version 1.0.1 (5/21/2010) for printing to shared printers.

Btrieve Commander has been updated (5/24/2010). This is a Btrieve file viewer / editor.

Paul Smedley has released (5/22/2010) an OS/2 port of Python version 2.6.5, as well as a Mercurial 1.0.2 module. There is also another port (1/1/2007) of Python 2.4.4; there are several extensions listed on that site as well. Python is a scripting language that comes from the Unix world.

KDiff3 version 0.9.95 has been ported (5/22/2010) to OS/2. This is a program that compares or merges two or three text input files or directories, shows the differences line by line and character by character, provides an automatic merge-facility, and more.

IpConfigPM version 1.4a has been released (5/22/2010). This is a graphical interface for changing the IP address, domain name and DNS servers.

JamochaMUD version 4.7 has been released (5/16/2010). This is an open-source Java MUCK/MUD client.

Astrolog for OS/2 version 2.0 TP49 has been released (5/15/2010). This is astrology calculation, charting, and analysis software.

cclive version 0.6.3 has been ported (5/12/2010) to OS/2. This is a command line video extraction utility, which allows you to download videos from supported websites, including YouTube, Google Video, and DailyMotion. From VOICE News.

ScummVM version 1.1.1 has been released (5/2/2010). This allows you to run several adventure games, provided you have the data files. Games known to work include Space Quest I & II, King's Quest I-III, Legend of Kyrandia, Simon the Sorcerer 1 and 2; Beneath A Steel Sky, Broken Sword 1 and Broken Sword 2; Flight of the Amazon Queen; and games based on LucasArts' SCUMM (Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion) system, including Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max and more. There are even free downloads available for a few of the games; latest additions include Lure of the Temptress, and Drascula: The Vampire Strikes Back.

ClamAV GUI version 1.9.1 has been released (4/28/2010). This is a GUI front-end for configuring and running the ClamAV anti-virus program. Also available is ClamAVM, a monitoring and scheduling interface.

Mediatomb SVN r2093 has been ported (4/25/2010) to OS/2. This is an open source UPnP MediaServer with a nice web user interface, that allows you to stream your digital media to a variety of UPnP compatible devices. From VOICE News.

wxWidgets (formerly wxWindows) version 2.8.11 has been released (4/23/2010). This is a sophisticated cross-platform C++ framework for writing advanced GUI applications using (where possible) the native controls.

Nconvert version 5.62 has been released (4/23/2010). This is a multi-format image converter that supports more then 300 graphics formats.

4OS2 version 3.05A has been released (4/15/2010) as a netlabs.org project. Also available (5/9/2007) is version 3.04h. This is a command shell, formerly developed by JPSoft and now open source. There is a mailing list / newsgroup on Gmane.

GNU CoreUtils version 8.4 have been ported (4/13/2010) to OS/2. Also available (4/24/2008) is another port of version 6.11.17. This package is the union of the GNU fileutils, sh-utils, and textutils packages, offering several useful utilities.

A few more Qt4 apps have been ported (4/11/2010) to OS/2 - Qccrypt version 0.2 is a GUI front-end to the ccrypt command line utility, and Simple Image Resizer version 2.1 is a tool for resizing images.

SQLite version 3.6.23.1 has been ported (4/5/2010) to OS/2. SQLite is an embedded SQL database library.

PM CTorrent Manager version 0.20 has been released (4/4/2010). This is a graphical interface to the "Enhanced CTorrent" BitTorrent client.

An updated version of MPlayer has been released (4/4/2010), which has support for Win32 codecs, UniAud, DIVE, SNAP video overlays, and WarpOverlay. Dave Yeo has released (4/1/2010) an OS/2 build of KompoZer version 0.8b4pre. This is an unofficial continuation of NVU, the WYSIWYG website editor that includes a powerful CSS editor and FTP uploading capability.

Java Movie Database version 1.40 pre-release 1 has been released (4/1/2010). This is a Java based application for searching and getting information about movies and actors, getting the data from the Internet Movie Database (IMDB).

PMView, the indispensable graphics viewer, has been updated (3/30/2010) to version 3.61. Version 3.x has several new features, including EXIF support, scripted batch conversions, lossless JPEG rotation, and flyover image info; see the full list of what's new for more info. ASTranslator version 0.9.12 has been ported (3/28/2010) to OS/2. This is a QT4 app that translates text using the Google Translate engine.

Bridge2-Hi version 1.6 has been released (3/28/2010). This allows you to input Chinese characters into any PM application.

dcraw version 8.99 has been ported (3/26/2010) to OS/2; version 0.49 of the "vcd" experimental version has also been ported (2/6/2009). This is a digital camera RAW file conversion utility.

QSifre version 2.0 has been ported (3/21/2010) to OS/2. This is a password management tool, using the QT4 libraries.

FlashBlock version 1.5.13 (for Firefox 1.5.x and later) and version 1.3.16 (for other Mozilla browsers) have been released (3/15/2010). This is a Mozilla / Firefox extension that replaces Flash animations with a "click to play" placeholder.

The RAR archiver has been updated (3/15/2010) to version 3.93 (the "DOS" version also has OS/2 support). This is a command-line compression utility, with tight general and multimedia compression, recovery record option management of non-RAR archives, RCVT aRchive ConVersion Tool, and more.

A few more Qt4 apps have been ported (3/14/2010) to OS/2 - MP3Diags version 1.0.04 is for managing information in MP3 files, and tradutor version 0.1 is a tool for translating text with Google Translate.

T&V HappyPlayer version 2.20 has been released (3/14/2010). This is a PM application that operates TV cards built on the Brooktree BT848 chip, including some ATI and nVidia cards.

gnuplot version 4.4.0 has been released (3/13/2010). This is a utility for 2D/3D data plotting. From OS2.org.

Paul Smedley has ported (3/8/2010) GNU Binutils version 2.20.1 to OS/2. These are tools for compiling and linking programs, and most notably includes 'ld' (not functional on OS/2 yet), and 'as', the GNU assembler. From VOICE News.

Paul Smedley has released (3/2/2010) an OS/2 build of Ghostscript version 8.71. This is an interpreter for the PostScript language, compatible with GSView. From VOICE News.

WDBasic version 0.9 has been released (3/2/2010). This is a BASIC interpreter built with WDSibyl.

tasteroids3 version 0.3 has been ported (2/28/2010) to OS/2. This is an Asteroids game using the QT4 libraries.

A NIC driver for the Marvell Yukon 88E8038 Fast Ethernet chipsets has been released (2/28/2010).

K Movie Player version 0.6.2 has been released (2/27/2010). This is a movie player based on FFPlay, without SDL dependencies and support for DIVE, SNAP video overlays, and WarpOverlay.

SudokuResolver version 2.1.0 has been ported (2/26/2010) to OS/2; this QT game offers lots of Sudoku combinations.

Autoconf version 2.65, Automake version 1.11.1, and libtool version 2.2.6b have been ported (2/22/2010) to OS/2. These are essential tools for developing and/or porting many open source programs.

Privoxy (formerly JunkBuster) version 3.0.16 has been released (2/20/2010). This is a web proxy with advanced filtering capabilities for protecting privacy, filtering web page content, managing cookies, controlling access, and removing ads, banners, pop-ups and other obnoxious Internet junk. DBCSMAP version 1.4 has been released (2/20/2010). This is a character map program for Unicode and selected DBCS codepages (Chinese, Japanese, and Korean). Characters can be copied to the clipboard as codepage-specific text (UTF-8 for Unicode text), and in "text/unicode" format as supported by Mozilla.

OWPZip version 1.02 has been released. This extends the WPS with archive folders supporting PKZIP archives through drag-and-drop, with transparent compression, decompression, and opening and viewing of contents.

C.a.R. version 9.3 has been released. This is a Java program that simulates school geometry constructions with a pair of compasses and a straightedge (ruler).

lzlib version 0.9 has been ported (2/11/2010) to OS/2. This is a data compression library providing in-memory LZMA compression and decompression functions, using the lzip format.

nveth version 0.0.6 has been released (2/4/2010). This is a NDIS driver for NVIDIA chipset network adapters.

lsof has been ported (2/4/2010) to OS/2. This is a tool to list open files, and the processes that are using them.

Artistic Style has been ported (2/3/2010) to OS/2. This is a C, C++, C#, and Java source code formatter and beautifier.

libkva version 1.1.1 has been released (2/2/2010). This is a library for displaying video streams, which supports SNAP video overlays, WarpOverlay!, and DIVE. It has been used in KMP and recent ports of MPlayer.

libkai version 1.1.0 has been released (2/2/2010). The K Audio Interface is a DART and UNIAUD implementation library.

A tool for using the CanoScan 4400F scanner has been updated. It allows you to scan paper, photos, slides, and film in color, greyscale, and bitonal.

x264 version 0.83.x has been ported (1/24/2010) to OS/2. This is a H.264 (MPEG4 AVC) encoder library.

File version 5.0.4 has been ported (1/23/2010) to OS/2. This utility can identify the data type of several thousands of types of files, without relying on extensions.

The SunnyIcons component of eSchemes Deluxe has been updated (1/21/2010) to version 2.1 RC6. The Piano Launchpad component is at version 1.38 (7/22/2008), and the Imagination component is at version 3.10 (4/6/2008). SunnyIcons offers support for PNG icons (warning: it conflicts with WPS Wizard!). Imagination consists of new WPS classes which simplify browsing of pictures; it offers a preview window and image viewing, with support for many common graphics formats. WDSibyl has been updated (1/17/2010). This is an open source continuation of the commercial product Sibyl, which is a Pascal / Delphi compiler.

Harbour version 2.0.0 has been released (12/23/2009), as well some support libraries (1/11/2010) for Cairo, Curl, MySQL, Postgres, and OpenSSL. This is a free software compiler for the xBase superset language, often referred to as Clipper (as implemented by CA-Clipper). Thanks to David Macias for the news.

Maul Publisher version 3.16a has been released (1/9/2010). Maul Publisher is "the world's first professional desktop publisher for OS/2 Warp." It will automatically take care of page numbering in folding booklets, reversal of margins for facing pages, page numbering offsets where you don't want to start from page one, reversal of margins for top bound booklets and top folding booklets, centering margins on printers with odd margins, and multiway folding sheets and maps.
