Searching for Files on The OS/2 Shareware BBS
A few notes about searching for files on the OS/2 Shareware BBS web site:
The search function is still being developed. The current function
works like this:
- Words in the entry field are combined with logical OR operations.
That is, if you enter "sound MMPM", all files with either the
word "sound" or the word "MMPM" will be displayed to you in the search
results.
- As a quick fix to expand the search function, the search program was
modified to display all words which start with the words you
provide so in the above example, the search would be equivalent to all
files with words starting with "sound" or words starting with "MMPM".
This means that you'd get matches on files with "sounds", "sounding",
"sounded", etc. as well as "MMPM" and "MMPM/2".
- All searches are case-insensitive.
Currently on the drawing board are additions to the search function
to allow you to search by file date as well as extended boolian
searches.
