NetHack version 3.4.2 has been released (8/31/2003). This is a clone of the classic game Rogue.

MMAudioPak2 contains codecs for FLAC, MP3, and OGG Vorbis, which have been updated to version 0.3.0, 0.4.3, and 0.3.2, respectively. With these codecs the OS/2 multimedia system is able to play (and convert to WAV) FLAC, MP3, and OGG Vorbis files without any additional software. Thanks to Klaus Staedtler for the news.

JPhotoBrush Pro 1.2 has been released (8/30/2003). This is an Image Editing and Enhancement Application/Tool written in Java 1.3 making extensive use of Swing and Java2D.

KVEC version 2.99 has been released (8/30/2003). This is a tool which can vectorize images using several graphic formats (BMP, Windows Metafile, Enhanced Metafile, AutoCad DXF, HPGL, ART).

ShutKill version 1.01 has been released. This is a command line program to manipulate the eCS shutdown "kill list", as provided by eStyler.

The Java Imaging Utilities version 0.11.0 has been released (8/29/2003). This library offers functionality to load, analyze, process and save pixel images.

Drivers for the Intel EtherExpress (Pro/100) Ethernet cards have been updated (8/29/2003) to version 4.48. Also included are the Intel Pro/1000 version 3.46 drivers.

Link Guard Solutions has released (8/28/2003) SafeFire Firewall 1.2 beta. It is now freeware; LGS will still support it and continue to fix bugs, but future development of this product line is stopped in favor of SafeFire Links. Registered users of previous versions of SafeFire Firewall will receive a free upgrade to SafeFire Links 2.0 SOHO as soon as it is available. Dos Navigator/2 version 1.51.10b13 has been released. This is another free VIO Norton Commander clone. The web page is mostly in Russian, but the program should be in English.

Linky version 2.0.0 has been released (8/26/2003). This is an add-on for Mozilla that adds extra link-related items to the menu, allowing you to perform tasks such as opening all links on a page in new tabs or copying selected links to the clipboard.

slrn version 0.9.8.0 has been ported (8/26/2003) to OS/2. This is a text mode newsreader that works both online and offline, is fully configurable, supports scoring, and more.

BlackBox version 0.65.0 and XCDRoast version 0.98 alpha 14 have been ported (8/26/2003) to XFree86/OS2. BlackBox is a window manager, and XCDRoast is a GUI for CDRTools.

Major Major version 1.56 has been released (8/25/2003). It is a mailing list manager for OS/2 that lets you create multiple mailing lists on your machine. Thanks to Peter Moylan for the news.

TabTray version 0.1 has been released (8/24/2003). This is a small applet which allows you to access an xCenter tray using a single mouse click. Thanks to Alessandro Cantatore for the news.

WPS Class Manager version 0.1 has been released (8/23/2003). This allows you to register new WPS classes, deregister existing WPS classes, force deregister WPS classes by removing them from the OS2SYS.INI data, and modify the path or the name of the DLLs associated with a WPS class name. Dr.Dialog Control version 0.1.4 has been released (8/23/2003). This is a DLL for use with DrDialog which provides a percent bar, fly over help control, an image control which displays any image file supported by OS/2, and a directory picker. Full source is included, under the BSD license.

DTape beta 10 has been released. Dtape is a OS/2 PM program which provides the facilities to record and replay digital audio directly to/from disk - a digital tape recorder. Features include peak level monitoring and unlimited .WAV file sizes (up to 4GB). From VOICE News.

ArgoUML version 0.14.1 has been released (8/21/2003). This is a modelling tool written in Java to help you do your design using UML.

gX version 0.5 has been released (8/21/2003). This is a native 32-bit OS/2 XML editor and parser; it can do full validation and SGML compatibility checking. The editor uses document type definitions to provide guidiance in authoring correct documents. For example, use it to create HTML 4.0 documents, or DocBook books and articles. The utility Win95Key has been updated (8/20/2003) to version 3.09. Win95Key is a keyboard macro utility, that allows you to program the extra keys on your keyboard to do various things.

CDDBMMCD version 0.44 has been released (8/19/2003). This is a utility to update the MMPM CD player title database via a CDDB database.

HB Object Inspector version 0.5.0c has been released (8/17/2003). This is a free clone of Object Desktop's Object Inspector, with the ability to create WPI packages automatically from WPS folders.

Autoconf version 2.57 and Automake version 1.7.6 have been ported (8/17/2003) to OS/2. These tools are important pieces needed for porting other Unix programs.

TVShow version 0.95 has been released (8/16/2003). This is intended for viewing TV with bt878 based tv cards. From VOICE News.

Xerces-C validating XML-Parser version 2.3.0 has been ported (8/16/2003) to OS/2.

Micropress, Inc has updated (8/13/2003) VTeX/2, the free OS/2 port of the TeX-to-pdf compiler VTeX, and is now based on v8.23 of the TeX-PDF compiler. VTeX is a TeX program, which generates PDF or PostScript output from TeX source files. It comes with a complete ready-to-run LaTeX system, many additional macro packages and fonts, and the BibTeX and MakeIndex programs. Thanks to Klaus Staedtler for the news.

Plogg, an open source ncurses (text)-based Ogg Vorbis/mp3 player has been updated (8/13/2003). It features basic playlist functions and navigation between songs.

File Browser beta 21 has been released (8/10/2003). This is a file manager / Web browser / File viewer (graphics, Netscape plug-ins).

VisualAge Smalltalk version 6.0.1 is available for free download (requires registration), for non-commercial use. It is listed as a FixPak, but is a functionally complete package, and will not expire. From VOICE News.

IBM has updated (8/7/2003) the ThinkPad Infrared Stack. You need a Software Choice subscription or access to eCS updates to get this. There is also an older (10/30/2002) version that may support more hardware on Hobbes. These allow for printing, communicating with a cell phone, and LAN access using IrDA. From os2.jp.

tvisor, a program to collect and analyze TCP/IP traffic, has been updated (8/6/2003).

MyPod version 0.2.3 for the Apple iPod music player has been released (8/2/2003). It requires Java 1.4, and allows you to manipulate playlists and more for the iPod device.

NetBeans 3.5.1 is now available (7/31/2003) for download. NetBeans Developer is a Java IDE written in pure java. The IDE is based on JFC, and uses it's full feature-set. Full support of JavaBeans, use the BeanWizard to generate your own beans in minutes. Integrated full-featured text editor, debugger, compiler, pluggable Look & Feel, and Form Editor with advanced layout manager support.

IBM has released (7/30/2003) a USB serial driver. You need a Software Choice subscription or access to eCS updates to get this. From os2.jp.

whois version 4.6.6 has been ported (7/29/2003) to OS/2. This is a new whois (RFC 954) client that is intelligent and can automatically select the appropriate whois server for most queries.

IBM has updated (7/24/2003) the drivers for PC Card 8.0 CardBus. You need a Software Choice subscription or access to eCS updates to get this. From os2.jp.

CAD-handler has been updated (7/21/2003). This offers a Ctrl-Alt-Del popup menu, including a mini process list with kill, ability to unmount and remount filesystems, and reset the WPS.

NTFS.IFS version 1.07 has been released (7/20/2003). This is a readonly IFS driver for NTFS partitions, that is only available to eCS users.

A nice Mahjongg game called Shisen/2 has been updated (7/19/2003) to version 1.3.1.

MagicDraw UML version 7.0 has been released (7/17/2003). This is a Java based UML modelling tool. From VOICE News.

DragText version 3.8 has been released (7/17/2003). This version has enhancements to OverDrag, better interoperability with Mozilla and NewView, adds Create Another menus to the File Open/Save dialogs, and more. OverDrag allows you to press MB1 or a hotkey while dragging text & objects to: open folders, locate objects, scroll windows, minimize & restore windows, expand branches in tree view, and more. After the drag, DT will even clean up, restoring windows & closing folders you opened. It has support for Odin applications, and a "moving targets" feature. It also allows you to open objects directly from text using drag and drop; access a file or program object's menu from any window it opens. LAME version 3.93.1 has been ported (7/17/2003) to OS/2. LAME is an MP3 encoder, and includes a graphical frame analyzer.

Free Pascal version 1.0.10 has been released (7/11/2003). Free Pascal is a pascal compiler that is semantically compatible with Borland Turbo Pascal and Borland Delphi.

ImageJ version 1.30 has been released (7/9/2003). ImageJ is a powerful image-editing program relying on Java 1.3 or greater, with numerous plugins. Thanks to Klaus Staedtler for the news.

Analog Devices AD188x (SoundMax) OS/2 audio driver version 3.1.7 has been posted (7/9/2003) on Hobbes.

PMSheet version 1.0 has been released (7/7/2003). This is an image viewer with thumbnails, image rotation, and a few other features. Also available is the source code for the directory control used.

Electronic Teller, one of OS/2's oldest shareware home financial applications, has been updated (7/6/2003) to version 4.20. Electronic Teller is a home finance application that allows you to keep track of your checking, credit card and cash accounts. It can keep track of multiple accounts and multiple users, and can import .QIF files from Quicken.

REXX Function package for REXX based CGI scripts version 0.26 has been released (7/6/2003). This provides additional REXX functions for CGI scripts. It handles form processing (GET and POST methods) with data validation, supports file uploads, sending e-mail and attachments via SMTP, checking and retrieving POP3 mail, getting documents via HTTP, building PDF documents and a range of useful date, file and string functions. Build 26 includes enhancements to the sendSMTP function so you can now CC and BCC e-mails, and adds a RebootPC() function to enable warm reboots. Thanks to Igor Pool for the news.

PCI+AGP bus sniffer version 0.48a has been released (7/5/2003). This tool shows PCI, AGP and CardBus device information, has a huge database of known vendors and devices,and can tell what IRQs are supported by which slot.

MozTweak version 1.2.1 has been released (7/3/2003). This is a GUI tool for modifying hidden Mozilla preferences.

MPEG audio utility version 0.24 has been released. This utility analyzes all the frames of MPEG audio files, allowing you to manipulate them, such as removing leading and trailing silence.

Version 3.50 of "REXX Tips & Tricks" has been uploaded (7/2/2003) to Hobbes. REXX Tips & Tricks is an OS/2 INF file containing useful hints and information about OS/2 REXX. Included is information about literature for REXX, further Software for REXX, hints & tips for OS/2 commands, hints & tips for REXX commands & functions, some hints for optimizations, a lot of REXX source code (functions & complete programs) and much more.

jlGui version 2.2 has been released (7/1/2003). This is a graphical music player that supports JavaSound capabilities (WAV, AU, AIFF, MP3, Ogg Vorbis) and WinAmp skins. It requires Java 1.3, and reportedly works well with OS/2. Thanks to Klaus Staedtler for the news.

IBM has released (7/1/2003) a pair of wireless LAN drivers, one that supports the Mini-PCI 22P7701 found in the ThinkPad T30, and one that supports the PC Card-128 09N9904 T Series. You need a Software Choice subscription or access to eCS updates to get these. From OS2World.

z! has been updated (6/29/2003) to "test 5"; also available (1/13/2003) is version 2.7 alpha 3. This is a textmode MP3 player, that can handle ogg, streaming audio (Shoutcast), and has normalize support. There is also an FAQ. From VOICE News.

web/2 version 1.3 beta 4 has been released (6/27/2003). This is an easy to configure webserver for OS/2 with features such as ssi, virtual domains, and more. From VOICE News.

IBM has released (6/26/2003) GRADD A.097 video drivers. This supports some ATI, C&T, S3, Matrox, NeoMagic, and Trident cards. Note that you do not need this if you are using other GRADD drivers, such as SciTech SNAP Graphics. Thanks to Klaus Staedtler for the news.

WSedit version 0.96 has been released (6/25/2003). This is an editor with CUA and Wordstar key commands, syntax highlighting, translation, spell checking, function key macro recorder, and a lot of other features. Also available is WSformat, a formatting and printing program for Wordstar files. WSedit is Freeware, WSformat is Shareware.

GenealogyJ version 2.1 has been released (6/24/2003). This is a Java program for handling all of your genealogical information in a graphical way.

Bubblepad version 1.0.5 has been released (6/22/2003). This is a replacement class for the Launchpad of OS/2 Warp 3 and above. It provides fly over help for all the buttons, and adds some other features. Thanks to Klaus Staedtler for the news.

PostgreSQL version 7.3.2 has been updated (6/21/2003) for OS/2. It now contains a GUI administration program. Also available (6/25/2001) are an ODBC manager and drivers. PostGres is a SQL database.

Vice/2 version 1.12 is a port (6/20/2003) of the versatile Commodore 64 emulator. It uses DIVE and DART, and now supports fullscreen mode. From VOICE News.

Auto Wget Daemon version 1.8.3 has been released (6/17/2003). Auto Wget Daemon is a GUI front end to WGET, that allows you to start downloading by dragging a url into a dedicated folder. It supports a download queue and continuing where it left off.

QueenCy version 0.1.4e has been released (6/16/2003). This is a painting program for OS/2, which supports the Wacom tablets. There are also drivers for the Wacom tablets on that page, including support for USB. The page is in Japanese, but the program should still be usable. PmApm version 0.1 has been released (6/16/2003). This is a GUI interface to APM/2 that allows you to use APM modes "standby", "suspend" and "poweroff". Thanks to Martin Iturbide for the news.

Drivers for the VIA 8233 integrated AC97 sound and CPU cooling and power management have been released (6/16/2003).

Moneydance 2003 build 314 has been released (6/13/2003). It is a personal finance manager written completely in Java. It includes transaction auto-completion, graphing, reporting, a reconciliation tool, running cleared vs uncleared balances, transaction sorting, double-entry, multiple currencies, multiple accounts and much more.

Lotus released (6/9/2003) a patch to fix the incorrect display of German umlauts and fonts in Word Pro. Also available (11/7/2002) are some older patches for SmartSuite version 1.7.1 (see the os2* files). The fixes appear to be for Lotus 1-2-3 and importing Excel files. From VOICE News.

HOUSE/2 version 2.1a has been released (6/9/2003). This is designed for the X10 home automation controllers CM11x/CM11/CM12U allowing timer and macro event programming to control lights or appliances.

IBM has updated (6/8/2003) the video drivers for the ThinkPad T20 / T21 / T22 / T23 laptops to version 7.00.37.

F version 4.75 beta has been released (6/8/2003). F is a freeware text-mode configurable file manager, with an FTP/FXP client, an editor with syntax-highlighting, numerous tools for developers, simple e-mail and news clients, as well as small HTTP and FTP servers.

There are now (6/8/2003) versions of UPS Monitor for APC models Back-UPS Pro, Smart-UPS and other APC smart signaling UPS; APC models Back-UPS and Back-UPS Office simple signaling UPS; Guardian On Board PowerCard UPS; and contact closure UPS models by Tripplite (INTERNET Office model 500 and 700) and IBM (Professional Office models 500 and 700). It will monitor the status of the UPS, and provide shutdown services to the operating system.

Normalize version 0.7.6 has been ported (6/7/2003) to OS/2. Normalize is an overly complicated tool for adjusting the volume of wave files to a standard volume level. This is useful for things like creating mp3 mixes, where different recording levels on different albums can cause the volume to vary greatly from song to song.

The Perl Compatible Regular Expressions Library (PCRE) version 4.3 has been ported (6/5/2003) to OS/2. It is available as a regular DLL, and as a REXX-callable DLL.

Lynx version 2.85dev16 has been ported (6/4/2003) to OS/2. Also available (7/18/2001) is an older port of Lynx 2.8.4rel1. Lynx is a text-mode WWW browser.

XSane version 0.91 has been released (6/3/2003). This is a front-end for SANE that requires XFree86/OS2. Thanks to Franz Bakan for the news.

Rocco Foti has released (6/3/2003) CDR/RW Wizard version 1.0 RC7, a GUI wizard interface to CDRecord/2 to burn CDR/CDRW (data, audio, etc). It now features BootWizard, for creating bootable CDs, and CDRDAO/2. Also released (4/21/2000) is RadioTrackFR version 1.0 beta 3, an AIMS Radio Track program.

QuakeWorld 2.40 client and source code have been updated (6/1/2003) for OS/2. Also available (9/27/2001) is the server.

System tray widget version 0.2 for XCenter has been released. This is a port of the System tray plugin from SysTray/WPS to XWorkPlace's XCenter. It provides a Windows-style system tray that can be filled with icons added by third-party applications using the SysTray API. From OS2World.

Backup Demon/2 version 0.912 beta was released a while back. It secures data on any medium, including ftp servers, fixed disks or CD burners (no tape support however). From VOICE News.

Web Family Tree version 1.0 has been released (5/27/2003). It allows you to put your genealogy information on the web, using CGI. You need a a web server to use it. Thanks to Peter Moylan for the news.

Run_Java has been updated (5/26/2003). This will create a "Create Java Object" program object on your desktop. Just drop a .jar file on the object to create a program object for the .jar file. It will also create a "Run Jars" object -- this will allow you to start most modern java apps by just double clicking on the jar file. Thanks to Cary Renquist for the news.

Smart Cache Loader version 0.25 has been released (5/24/2003). This is a very configurable web grabber with special Smart Cache support.

FAST Editor Lite version 0.2.25 has been released (5/24/2003). This is an open source multi-featured programmer's editor, with smart indent, syntax highlighting, and lots more.

EXIF-O-Matic version 1.1.8 has been released (5/20/2003). This is a Java tool for dealing with the meta-data within image files created by digital cameras; it can export the information to TXT and HTML.

An OS/2 port of cdrdao 1.1.8 (fix1) has been released (5/20/2003). cdrdao is a free CD-R/RW writing program for Disk At Once mode. There is also an older port of cdrdao 1.1.3 available (12/11/99).

Paul Ratcliffe has developed a bugfixed and multiple process enabled (at the moment 4 processes) version of aspirout.sys, which is needed for some of the free CD recording utilities. It is currently at version 1.1 beta 9. From VOICE News.

An OS/2 port of gnuplot version 3.8j is now (5/14/2003) available. There is also a native progam called PMPlot. These are for 2D/3D data plotting. Thanks to Klaus Staedtler for the news.

DynDNS version 3.2 has been released (5/11/2003). This is a GUI for DDUP 3.0.1, it supports all well-known ddup attitudes.

ColourManager/2 version 1.1 beta has been released (5/10/2003). This new utility allows you to set system color schemes. Thanks to Richard Castle for the news.

Shisen Sho and Mah Jongg have been updated (5/9/2003) to version 1.15, and SAME is at version 1.02. These fun games feature nice tile sets and different layouts. From VOICE News.

There are some fixes (5/8/2003) for XFree86 version 4.3.0, which was recently (2/28/2003) released for OS/2. This is a port of the popular windowing system used on Unix platforms.

Program Control version 1.06 has been released. This is a VIO utility to manipulate program sessions (minimize, maximize, restore), or kill them.

PGPTools version 1.50 has been released (5/2/2003). This is a front end for PGP 5.0, which is now GPL. It includes PGPKeys version 1.01, which gives access to PGP key management functions. Thanks to Bernd Giesen for the news.

Xact version 8, a chart publishing system, has been released. The integrated vector graphics editor allows you to to add objects and captions for illustrations and descriptive texts. Thanks to Jouko Jylanki for the news.

AutoScroll has been updated (4/23/2003), and now works remarkably similar to the version I created previously (it looks like he used my autoscroll.js patches). AutoScroll is an addon for Mozilla and Phoenix that allows autoscrolling functionality similar to HotScroll and XWorkPlace. For those unfamiliar with this, when you middle click on a page, you can then move the mouse up and down to have the page scroll.

LDCOPY version 1.1 has been released (4/19/2003). This is a simple OS/2 driver for copying files while CONFIG.SYS is being processed.

BladeEnc version 0.94.2, an MP3 encoder, has been ported (4/17/2003) to OS/2. Get the newest version from Hobbes.

An unzip plugin for Netscape and Mozilla has been updated (4/17/2003).

mTelnet version 1.0 beta 11 has been released (4/16/2003); it is a telnet client that features: zmodem, ansi, vt100, phonebook, color backscroll, and it's free.

Marty Amodeo has added (4/14/2003) symbolic link support to the EMX libraries, and many of the common utilities. It utilizes OS/2 extended attributes to emulate symbolic links.

Squeak version 3.5 has been ported (4/13/2003) to OS/2. Squeak is the open source smalltalk. This port includes full network access and handles native sound and uses DIVE for fast video. Squeak is written in itself - you can inspect, change and extend any part of the language, application, or even the virtual machine, while it is running.

SmartPack for Mesa/2 version 1.1 has been released. This is a collection of little tools to use with the spread sheet application Mesa/2 by Sundial Systems. From VOICE News.

uudeview version 0.5.18 has been ported (4/12/2003) to OS/2. This is a smart multi-file multi-part decoder for uuencoded, xxencoded, Base64 and BinHex encoded files. It also includes a similarly powerful encoder.

OpenSSL version 0.9.7a has been ported (4/12/2003) to OS/2. This is a robust, commercial-grade, full-featured, and Open Source toolkit implementing the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL v2/v3) and Transport Layer Security (TLS v1) protocols, as well as a full-strength general purpose cryptography library.

GOGO version 3.11p1 has been released (4/11/2003). This is a very fast MP3 encoder based on LAME.

Stardock has released Stellar Frontier version 1.10a, a free multi-player game. This game is also bundled with eComStation.

Poor Man's PDF version 1.0.5 has been released (4/4/2003). This is a project to easily make PDF files under OS/2. It is implemented as a printer port driver, and requires GhostScript. Rexx Autostart version 1.90 has been released (4/4/2003). This is designed to provide a workaround for timing problems that may lead to a WPS hang on startup.

dskxtrct version 1.3 has been released (4/2/2003). This tool can extract files from DSK diskette image files that IBM provides. You can use it to extract FixPak files and apply them from the hard drive.

GNU AWK version 3.1.2 has been ported (3/30/2003) to OS/2. This is a programmer's tool that is prevalent on Unix platforms.

JJSCDROM has been updated (3/28/2003). This is an alternative to IBM's OS2CDROM.DMD, which fixes some problems and adds a few features.

Privoxy (formerly JunkBuster) version 3.0.2 has been released (3/25/2003). This is a web proxy with advanced filtering capabilities for protecting privacy, filtering web page content, managing cookies, controlling access, and removing ads, banners, pop-ups and other obnoxious Internet junk. ThirdEye version 2.20 has been updated. ThirdEye is a universal digital camera manipulation program, that supports cameras from Agfa, Olympus, Epson, Nikon, Sanyo, Kodak, HP, and Konica. It has a REXX interface, a NetDrive plugin, and both PM and VIO versions of the application. This allows you to browse the pictures in your digital camera with your favorite filemanager or the WPS. Polarbar Mailer version 1.25a has been released (3/22/2003). This Java e-mail program came from decompiling the last released version of JStreet Mailer, and permission was obtained from Innoval to continue the development.

AiR-BOOT version 1.01 has been released (3/20/2003). This is a Multi-Boot partition loader with some extra features, including colored "award-like" SETUP, virus protection, Linux kernel support, and more. From VOICE News.

ProNews/2 version 1.53 has been released (3/6/2003). This popular newsreader contains numerous fixes over the last version that was commercially available. All proceeds now go to charity, as the development of this application has been taken over by members of the OS/2 community. From VOICE News.

Jikes version 1.18 has been ported (3/5/2003) to OS/2. Jikes is a high performance Java byte-code compiler. It is much faster than JAVAC, has better dependency checking, and has stricter error checking.

WebMail/2 is a 'hotmail.com-style' system for OS/2, now (3/3/2003) on version 14.0. WebMail/2 runs along with your existing pop3/smtp server, and it can read the user database of Weasel, IPS, InetMail, and ZXMail.

EMT4PM version 4.31 has been released (3/3/2003). EMT4PM is a PM utility to build disk images, and write images to disk. From VOICE News.

CW-USBMSD version 1.2b has been released (1/28/2003). This package contains drivers to use USB mass storage class compliant devices, and supports other, maybe more, devices than the IBM drivers. There is also Yuri Dario's patch for IBM's usbmsd.add, with support for the Olympus digital cameras, which was updated (3/3/2003) to version 1.3b.

Martin Kiewitz has made patches that allow some DOS games to run under OS/2. GoSierra version 3 (3/2/2003) allows old Sierra and Dynamix games to work using Soundblaster sound. Be sure to check out Martin's DOS games compatibility info page.

rxBlFish version 1.02 has been released (2/28/2003). This is a REXX interface to the BlowFish encryption tool.

SysInfo/2 version 0.8.20, an OS/2 clone of Symantec SystemInfo tool from NU for Win 95/98/NT, has been released (2/28/2003). It shows info about your CPU/FPU, BIOS, HDD, memory use, video and printer subsystems, LAN and Internet connection, OS/2 version, fixpack installed, and so on. IBM has updated (2/27/2003) the driver for the internal 56K Lucent modem, which is used on some ThinkPads. You need a Software Choice subscription or access to eCS updates to get this. Also available (10/8/2002) is a beta driver which supports V.90. From OS2World.

Night Vision version 2.5 has been released (2/24/2003). Night Vision is a "planetarium" astronomy program.

Perl version 5.8.0 has been ported (2/23/2003) to OS/2, and includes some documentation in INF format.

VCOMPAT version 0.32b has been released (2/23/2003). This is a VDD to fix some issues in VDMs to further enhance compatibility. It contains many fixes, some of which are user-controllable via Properties. From VOICE News.

IMDB DiffTools version 2.5 has been released (2/22/2003). The DiffTools package allows you to download updates from IMDB and apply them to your existing copy of the data files. Thanks to Christian Hennecke for the info.

POSIX/2 beta 0.1.1 has been released (2/21/2003). This adds BSD interface additions to EMX, to give OS/2 a complete POSIX / Single Unix Specification evironment. CVS version 1.12.0.2 has been ported (2/19/2003) to OS/2. Also available (8/22/2002) is another port of version 1.11.2. This is a very useful tool for projects with multiple developers.

Audio/Data-CD-Creator version 0.53 has been released (2/16/2003). It is a folder class for the WPS which works as a frontend for cdrecord/2 for creating audio and data CDs. Daniela Engert has released (2/14/2003) DaniATAPI version 0.3.14. DaniATAPI is a replacement for IBM's ATAPI drivers (IBMIDECD, IBMATAPI, PCM2ATA.ADD, and OS2PCARD.DMD). It features support for ZIP-250, including full media swapping, and even booting from ZIP. It has faster 32bit PIO when used with danis506, and devices can be used as SCSI, for use with programs like CDRecord.

Wayne Swanson has released (2/11/2003) a small selection of free utilities. It contains CRLF - Convert LF to CRLF or vice versa on any selected file; DC - Directory Change changes directories at the command line (like cd) using aliases; FF - Find Files by name (or wildcard) on any drive, tree or individual directory; RT - Replace Text replaces any string with a new string in selected file(s); SLP - Search LibPath searches the LIBPATH for DLL files; SP - Search Path searches the SET PATH statement for file(s).

The WarpDoctor Rexx Plug-in version 1.02 has been released (2/8/2003). This is a browser plugin that works like the Java plugin, but for Rexx.

Wayne Swanson has created a patched version of ForeSpace, the PovRay frontend, to cure a "Black Icon" problem in the original 0.42b release.

Rexx2Nrx, a 'classic Rexx to NetRexx converter', has been updated to version 4.01. Rexx2Nrx attempts to convert classic Rexx programs to NetRexx. A runtime package is provided including the 'classic Rexx builtin functions' not available in NetRexx, like Date/Time, File IO, builtin Stack, etc.

ISDNPM version 3.03r1 has been released (2/4/2003). This is an ISDN dialer for PPP, masquerading, and more. You can find the latest version on Yahoo Groups or Hobbes.

fetchmail version 6.2.1b1 has been ported (2/3/2003) to OS/2. Also available (2/22/2002) is another port of version 5.9.8. This can fetch mail by POP or IMAP, and forward by SMTP to local system or elsewhere.

XWorkplace version 1.0.1, the successor to XFolder, has been released (2/2/2003). It includes all the features of XFolder 0.85, virtual desktops using xPager (formerly PageMage), a replacement for WarpCenter (XCenter), a trash can, most of the NPSWPS and WarpEnhancer features, object hotkeys, lots of new settings pages, and more. startpmm version 0.2 has been released (2/1/2003). This is a small program to integrate PMMail with Mozilla.

cdrecordProDVD version 2.0 has been released (1/30/2003). This program allows you to write DVDs; it requires a license key to write more than 1GB. From VOICE News.

IBM has released (1/30/2003) LSI Logic SCSI Driver version 1.01.00. The driver supports the LSI53C1020 and LSI53C1030 adapters. From OS2.org.

WarpZip version 3.9 has been released (1/28/2003). This program will now search for, list, view, extract and do "near seamless" installations from ZIP, ARJ, RAR, LZH, TGZ, GZ, WPI, and OS/2 "packed" file formats. It also features a Download PreProcessor that will selectively move your downloaded zip files to any directory you choose, test them for integrity, virus test them, and queue them up for later review. RealTek 8139 network driver version 3.23 has been released (1/28/2003). It should work on Realtek 8139 / 8130 / 810x chips. There is also a RTL8139 CardBus enabler, which includes a patch for PCMCIA.SYS to allow CardBus access functions, and a tool to view information about inserted PCCard and CardBus cards.

World Clock version 1.40 has been released (1/24/2003). It is a configurable clock with Daylight Savings Time, Stopwatch, Alarm and Program launcher for 1 and 9 cities from 360+ cities in the provided City list.

Mailman 2.0.13 has been ported (1/17/2003) to OS/2. This is a mailing list manager, and includes a web-based interface.
