   At the February meeting, Donna Walker will present a tutorial on 
   installing "corrective" service to OS/2.  She'll provide an 
   introduction to the terms used throughout the service process, 
   explain the items necessary to install service (including how to 
   acquire them), explain alternative techniques to installing the 
   service, and share her recent experience installing FixPak 17.
     
   About the speaker:
   -----------------
   Donna Walker is a senior system engineer and architect working on the 
   IRS's Tax Systems Modernization effort.  She has more than 20 years 
   of experience working inside IBM's mainframe operating systems, 
   though she rates herself a "rank amateur" when it comes to OS/2!
     
FUTURE SIG FEATURES
     
   In March, Kirby Thornton will present his experience with PostRoad 
   Mailer.  Innoval Systems' PostRoad Mailer is a native 32-bit program 
   for sending and receiving electronic mail via the Internet.  It 
   includes its own editor that supports word wrap, quoted replies, 
   drag-and-drop operations (file, print, etc.), and MIME attachments. 
   It also supports a variety of filters as well as "user exits" 
   programmable in REXX.
     
   In April, we will have a special meeting featuring the OS/2 network 
   and attendant applications that support the Maryland State Highway 
   Authority (SHA) traffic operations center.  By special arrangement 
   with SHA, we will be meeting at their facility in Hanover, MD. The 
   meeting will include a presentation and tour of the facility.  Watch 
   for details!
     
   Additional product-oriented presentations are tentatively planned 
   on Rhintek product update, and IBM/Lotus product update. We will 
   make every effort to schedule product-oriented presentations soon 
   after their respective vendors have made available significant new 
   releases.
